The art alone in this stunning Laurel Canyon home gives me major house envy. Mix this with stylish bohemian accents and an eclectic range of mid-century modern furnishings, and I’m ready to pack my bags and move in. We all know that white walls are having a moment right now, but when you combine this with an open plan structure and floor-to-ceiling windows that let an abundance of light reflect off each wall it’s easy to see why this leaves us California dreaming.

Summer is here and we are definitely feeling it in the city. From the hot subway commutes to the stormy evenings, I’m sure many of you (like me) are wishing that fall would come a little sooner than later. However, on those nights which are slightly cooler, I often find myself dreaming of having our own outdoor space, somewhere we could grill, or relax outside with a glass of wine (the downside of city living). For now, I’ll keep dreaming, but in the meantime here are some of my favorite summer patios and suggestions on how you can get the look.
OYOY Living Design, the talented Danish homeware and furniture brand have launched their new autumn / winter collection and it certainly does not disappoint. Modern simplicity at its best, this stunning collection is inspired by the classic, Scandinavian style, adding undertones of simple, Japanese design and a passion for combining colour and materials. It also sees the introduction of OYOY Mini for ‘children and playful souls’, the sweetest (and most definitely stylish!) range of blankets, cushions, linen and more. I want it all!
By now I’m sure you’ve seen Rifle Paper Co.‘s stunning first wallpaper collection for Hygge & West but I couldn’t help share a couple of my favourite pieces. This range of quirky prints, colourful patterns and fun florals comes in 6 different styles and 26 colourways – all beautifully screen printed.
Be sure to check out the full collection here.
So we’re finally moved in to our new home! After weeks of packing and preparing, it’s now time for the the fun part: decorating! Naturally in the months leading up to this move I’ve been pinning things, researching, and thinking about endless style possibilities to make this place truly feel like a home that reflects both our personalities.
What stands out to me is when something colourful and unique complements or offsets the look of a room, and that absolutely shows in these accent dining chairs. Whether it’s a full-on bold colour or something more subtle like paint-dipped legs and chair backs, it’s guaranteed to stand out and take any room one step closer to being 100% your own.
