I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner, to me it feels like we should still only be in September! This entire year has been a whirlwind for us, from getting married in May to moving from New Jersey to Charleston in September, and getting ready to fly back to England for Christmas, I often wish time would slow down a little.
This Thanksgiving we’re staying put in our new home and have our wonderful family coming to visit from Louisville, Kentucky which we couldn’t be more excited about. It’s my first attempt at cooking Thanksgiving dinner (and by cooking I mean adding additional ingredients to boxed recipes) so figuring out the oven schedule will be rather interesting!
This year we’re taking a slightly different approach to our tablescape, incorporating bold blue and grey tones. While it’s rather unconventional, I love the pop that the blue plates add to the setting, and the way the bronze Moscow Mule mugs tie in with the fall colors of the floral arrangements, which I was able to create using leftover stems from my fall wreath (check out the finished piece here). Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Halloween, everyone! You may have gotten some creativity out of your system at a costume party over the weekend, but it’s not too late to celebrate in style tonight, too. Whether you’re having a quiet dinner in like us (we’re celebrating one year of engaged life!) or stuffing your face with copious amounts of chocolate you can still stick to the spirit of the season with a spooky table setting. Throw in your favorite creepy cocktails and you’re good to go for the evening!

I’m so happy that we are well into the autumn season now. The temperature has finally dropped (after a warm spell last week of 28°C/83°F in New York!), and the boots and scarves are officially on. Whilst I’m pretty sure this time of year is everyone’s favorite for many reasons, for me it’s all about the creativity it brings out in people. From decorating homes to making costumes, you get to see so much personality and flair in those around you. However, just in case you’re in need of some inspiration, check out these awesome creative (and no carve) pumpkin decorating ideas.
The weekend is officially here and I couldn’t be happier! What a crazy week of milder than usual temperatures and endless snow storms. Shouldn’t daylight savings on Sunday mean that it’s finally spring time? Today we’re heading up to Cooperstown, NY for a couple’s weekend away full of distillery visits, brewery tours and rounds of Cards Against Humanity. I’m also so excited to stay at this adorable inn. Have a great one!
By now I’m sure you’ve seen Rifle Paper Co.‘s stunning first wallpaper collection for Hygge & West but I couldn’t help share a couple of my favourite pieces. This range of quirky prints, colourful patterns and fun florals comes in 6 different styles and 26 colourways – all beautifully screen printed.
Be sure to check out the full collection here.
