Happy Halloween, everyone! You may have gotten some creativity out of your system at a costume party over the weekend, but it’s not too late to celebrate in style tonight, too. Whether you’re having a quiet dinner in like us (we’re celebrating one year of engaged life!) or stuffing your face with copious amounts of chocolate you can still stick to the spirit of the season with a spooky table setting. Throw in your favorite creepy cocktails and you’re good to go for the evening!
Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s March this weekend? It’s crazy to think that I moved to the US nearly one year ago, where has the time gone! This week was full of celebration for us as one of Joe’s self published comics became officially stocked in a number of NY comic stores – such an exciting moment! This weekend we’ll be taking it easy; hanging out with friends, do a couple of home improvements and catch up on some reading (I recently joined two book clubs!). Have a great weekend!
- The Bauble Bar Sample Sale ends tonight – last chance to get between 50-75% off!
- I love this article on Design Sponge about paying it forward and empowering the next generation of professional women.
- I’m excited to try out this pork carnitas recipe this weekend in the slow cooker.
- How fab is this vibrant typography? Would love a couple of prints on my wall!
- Find it difficult to keep plants alive? Check out this tutorial from Dream Green DIY on faux flower arranging.
- It was trending last night dividing many households, did you weigh in on what colour this dress is???
- Dreaming of this bathroom makeover!
Did you guys get crafty for this year’s Super Bowl? I decided to treat myself over the Christmas period and splurged on a Cricut Explore! So far it has been amazing, so easy to use and the possibilities are endless. Recently I’ve been creating my own SVG files through Illustrator and importing them in to the Cricut Design Software however I decided to try out a couple of Cricut’s featured projects for our friend’s Super Bowl party. These Football Mason Jars and Favor Boxes were so quick and simple to make (supplies – mason jars, white vinyl, brown cardboard and a spot of glue), once ready we just filled up the jars with a sweet tea vodka cocktail and the boxes with popcorn for some tasty half time treats!
This might be one of the most simple DIY tutorials I’ve ever posted but if you’re like me and sometimes find yourself with more card, ribbons and buttons than you’re sure what to do with then why not put them to good use and make a handmade card. I’ve always felt that it’s those little personal touches, the time someone spends actually making something for someone else that means so much more to the person receiving it (and let’s face it, you don’t need to be a crafting mastermind for this project!).
I’m so excited to be featured in U Magazine‘s Christmas issue! Such an incredible way to end 2013, and what a year it has been. From taking a leap and changing jobs and my first Blog Awards Ireland nomination to clocking up a airmails between Ireland and the U.S, I’m ending the year on an absolute high. A huge thanks to the talented Nathalie Marquez Courtney for asking me to be a part of this feature and for shooting the amazing photos of my crafts!
