I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner, to me it feels like we should still only be in September! This entire year has been a whirlwind for us, from getting married in May to moving from New Jersey to Charleston in September, and getting ready to fly back to England for Christmas, I often wish time would slow down a little.
This Thanksgiving we’re staying put in our new home and have our wonderful family coming to visit from Louisville, Kentucky which we couldn’t be more excited about. It’s my first attempt at cooking Thanksgiving dinner (and by cooking I mean adding additional ingredients to boxed recipes) so figuring out the oven schedule will be rather interesting!
This year we’re taking a slightly different approach to our tablescape, incorporating bold blue and grey tones. While it’s rather unconventional, I love the pop that the blue plates add to the setting, and the way the bronze Moscow Mule mugs tie in with the fall colors of the floral arrangements, which I was able to create using leftover stems from my fall wreath (check out the finished piece here). Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Halloween, everyone! You may have gotten some creativity out of your system at a costume party over the weekend, but it’s not too late to celebrate in style tonight, too. Whether you’re having a quiet dinner in like us (we’re celebrating one year of engaged life!) or stuffing your face with copious amounts of chocolate you can still stick to the spirit of the season with a spooky table setting. Throw in your favorite creepy cocktails and you’re good to go for the evening!

Yesterday we flew to Louisville, KY to spend the long weekend with Joe’s family. I always love visiting this city, there is so much to see and do—from craft distilleries to incredible farm to table restaurants, it’s a place full of great culture and experiences. But mostly, I just love relaxing, catching up with family and of course stuffing my face with with food straight from the grill. What are your plans for 4th of July weekend?
That time of the year is upon us where our social calendars are jam packed with Christmas sweater wearing happy hours, office holiday parties and numerous friends and family gatherings.
