[my dream bachelorette in charleston]
What a whirlwind the past six months have been! From Vegas to San Francisco, Charleston, Portugal and France (several which were work related trips) I never imagined that I would be fitting so much mileage into such a few short months. My big news? In May, Joe and I got married at the most beautiful vineyard north of Lisbon in Portugal and have been on cloud nine ever since, and because we decided to hand make as many of the wedding details as possible (invites, stationary, calligraphy, gifts to name a few) I decided to take a little break from blogging and enjoy the planning process. Now that we’re nicely settled in to married life, I’m excited to get back into all things Paper Vines and also of course share many of our wedding crafting activities! In the meantime, here is a little snapshot of the past six months in photos.
Looking back over the past twelve months, 2013 has been a whirlwind year full of unpredictable moments and excitement. I never imagined my blog would take off the way it has this year, being nominated for the Blog Awards Ireland and being featured in U Magazine’s Christmas Craft Feature. I’m more grateful then I’ve ever been for such supportive friends and family and so excited to see what 2014 holds.
Happy New Year to you all!
Some of you may or may not have heard of Brilliant Earth, a San Francisco based jewellers. I recently came across this website and instantly fell in love with everything on their site. Founded by Beth Gerstein and Eric Grossberg, their mission is to provide the highest quality jewellery originating from pure sources and harvested using socially responsible practices. Not only this but Brilliant Earth focuses on supporting underdeveloped communities ravaged by the jewellery industry by donating a share of their profits.
This exclusive new design collection ‘Wisteria’ is inspired by the natural beauty of autumn and reflects the sinuous curves of vines, rippling leaves in the breeze and aims to capture light and movement in each individual piece.
In light of this beautiful new collection, I’ve chosen a few of my favourite items from the line and created four nature inspired wedding mood boards to reflect the persona of each piece of jewellery.
The rings which are my favourite pieces from the collection are said to evoke branches and vines with curving and overlapping bands that represent two lives intertwining. Earrings and necklaces from the collection are imbued with subtle movement that evokes falling leaves while pave diamonds bring a dazzling light.
As you can see, the result is pieces that look not only dynamic and delicate but radiate the curves and movement from nature itself.
